📅 16 Days 🏔 From Kathmandu to EBC

A direct approach to the foot of the world's highest mountain. Trek through rhododendron forests, Sherpa villages, and high Himalayan passes to reach Everest Base Camp at 5,486 m.

16-Day Programme — Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp

  • Day 01Arrive Kathmandu (1,345 m) — Transfer to hotel. Visit the Great Stupa of Boudhanath (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
  • Day 02Kathmandu → Lukla (flight) → Phakding (2,640 m) — 40-min flight to Lukla, then ~3 hrs trek to Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River.
  • Day 03Phakding → Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) — ~4.5 hrs crossing suspension bridges over the river, entering Sagarmatha National Park.
  • Day 04Rest Day at Namche for acclimatisation — Optional walk to Syangboche (3,800 m) for panoramic Everest views. Visit the National Park Centre.
  • Day 05Namche → Tengboche (3,867 m) — ~5 hrs through forests and high ridges. First clear views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse & Ama Dablam.
  • Day 06Tengboche → Dingboche (4,260 m) — ~5 hrs via Pangboche with spectacular Ama Dablam views. Trail through juniper and rhododendron.
  • Day 07Rest Day at Dingboche — Acclimatisation hike to Nakartsang Gompa for views of Makalu, Lhotse, Island Peak & Ama Dablam.
  • Day 08Dingboche → Lobuche (4,930 m) via Dongla (4,620 m) — Trek past memorial cairns for Sherpas, along the Khumbu Glacier moraine.
  • Day 09Lobuche → Everest Base Camp → Gorakshep (5,180 m) — Walk to EBC (5,486 m) on glacier and snowfield. Return to Gorakshep to overnight.
  • Day 10Gorakshep → Kala Patthar (5,545 m) → Pheriche (4,243 m) — Dawn climb to Kala Patthar for the finest panorama of Everest's SW face.
  • Day 11Pheriche → Tyangboche (3,867 m) — Downhill walk beneath Ama Dablam's sweeping south face. Monastery, campsites, teahouses.
  • Day 12Tyangboche → Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) — Through silver-fir forests, crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi.
  • Day 13Namche → Lukla (2,800 m) — Long final trek (7–8 hrs) back through Sherpa villages. Celebration dinner in Lukla.
  • Day 14Flight to Kathmandu — Leisure day: massage, relaxation or shopping.
  • Day 15Kathmandu Sightseeing — Swoyambhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square & Boudhanath (all UNESCO sites).
  • Day 16Departure — Transfer to airport. Please be ready 3 hrs before your flight.

  • Day 07Coorg → Mysore (3 hrs) — Check in at Windflower resort. Afternoon visit to Brindavan Gardens.
  • Day 08Mysore — City Palace Museum, Chamundi Hill. Shopping for incense, sandalwood oil, handicrafts and famous Mysore silks.
  • Day 09Mysore → Ooty (4 hrs) — Check in at Holiday Inn. Visit Botanical and Rose Gardens. Enjoy the hill-station atmosphere.
  • Day 10Ooty / Conoor — Ride the heritage Toy Train (narrow-gauge mountain railway) to Conoor, 13 km away. Return by road in the afternoon.
  • Day 11Ooty → Kochi (6 hrs) — Check in at The Arches Hotel or similar.
  • Day 12Kochi — Morning city sightseeing. Evening: Kathakali dance performance — the performing art of Kerala.
  • Day 13Kochi → Kumarakom (2.5 hrs) — Check in at Coconut Lagoon or similar backwater resort. Afternoon at leisure on the water.
  • Day 14Kumarakom — One of the world's 100 must-visit destinations. Enjoy the serene Kerala backwaters, birdlife and nature.
  • Day 15Kumarakom → Kochi → Bangalore → Departure — Drive to Kochi airport (3 hrs), fly to Bangalore and connect your international flight.

  • Day 03Argentinean Side & Itaipu — Cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge into Argentina. Explore the Upper and Lower Circuits; stand eye-level with the Garganta del Diablo (Devils Throat) — the most spectacular vantage on earth. Afternoon: visit the Itaipu hydro-electric powerplant, the world's largest man-made reservoir.
